This time, we are highlighting four outerwear models made with GORE-TEX and KODENSHI® down.
While enemies are often seen as threats to the survival of a species, they can also be viewed as a step toward evolution. The same applies to clothing. For down, which loses its effectiveness when wet, rain and snow are the enemies. To overcome this, the GORE-TEX-coated KODENSHI® down coat was developed. This iconic item, which has become synonymous with nanamica, is now available in a variety of styles this season. We introduce the functionality that might even make you think, "I might not need an umbrella.

First, a mid-length hooded down coat. While incorporating calculated details from military jackets, further updates have been made to better match modern lifestyles.
To overcome down's weakness of rain and snow, we used 2-layer polyester GORE-TEX, known for its excellent waterproof and breathable properties. It effectively prevents water droplets from entering while maintaining excellent breathability, and the 2-layer design ensures a comfortable, supple fit.
For the insulation, nanamica uses the familiar KODENSHI® down. KODENSHI® absorbs and radiates far-infrared rays (body heat) emitted from the body, helping to maintain a suitable temperature. When combined with down, it keeps warmth while preventing the discomfort of excessive heat buildup inside the clothing.
Not only the material, but also the details throughout are designed to alleviate the cold. The neckline, which is exposed to the skin, is lined with microfleece, ensuring a design that doesn't feel cold to the touch.
The cuffs are designed with ribbed inner cuffs to enhance the fit and prevent cold air from entering.
The hood is equipped with an adjuster to enhance the fit, and the left arm features a military-inspired cigarette pocket.
And it is the abundance of pockets that makes us realize that "clothing is not just a tool to protect from the cold." On the inside of the front placket, there is a security pocket with a zipper, allowing you to access your wallet or other items even when the front zipper is closed.
Inspired by flight jackets, the interior of the left and right flap pockets is equipped with two pockets: a patch pocket and a security pocket with a zipper. This allows you to separate frequently used items from valuables.
The interior also features large pockets, allowing for the storage of not just scarves and gloves but also headphones. While maintaining the ruggedness of military wear, there are hidden details throughout that ensure comfort.

The short stand-collar style also uses 2-layer GORE-TEX, just like the previous model. Comfortable arm movement is ensured with the yoked sleeve finish, commonly found in mountain jackets.
The neckline and cuffs feature ribbed designs, ensuring a close fit that prevents cold air from entering. While maintaining a secure seal, the KODENSHI® down allows moisture to escape from the inside, keeping you comfortable.
If it gets too warm, simply unzip without any issue. Thanks to the double zipper, you can also adjust the silhouette.
This jacket also features a large inner pocket with a zipper, making it ideal for storing valuables such as wallets and smartphones.

Next, we have a fishtail down coat inspired by the U.S. Army's M-1951 parka shell, which fully covers the body down to the hips. However, instead of a faithful reproduction, it features a nanamica-style arrangement.
Flap pockets are also helpful when your hands are cold. The inside is lined with microfleece, so it doesn't feel cold and gently wraps your hands. The neck area is also lined with microfleece for added warmth.

Finally, we have a coat made with 2-layer wool GORE-TEX, which is a departure from the previous designs. Based on the cold-weather gear issued to officer candidates, it has been restructured into a silhouette similar to a duffle coat. Combined with the fabric's texture, it has a classic look, rather than a military-inspired one.
The outer fabric features 2-layer wool GORE-TEX, which combines smooth wool and a GORE-TEX membrane in a two-layer structure. While it visually resembles a natural wool coat, it is equipped with solid functionality. Additionally, like the previous designs, this coat also uses KODENSHI® down for the insulation.
The chin strap, snap buttons to adjust the shape of the hood, and wind straps inside the zipper are functional details reminiscent of vintage designs.
The cuffs are designed without seams, similar to vintage flight jackets, and are crafted with non-itchy wool. Additionally, the tension of the tubular knit is set in two stages to enhance the fit while maintaining a structure with minimal tightness.
The front pockets feature drawcords, which can be pulled to adjust the silhouette for a more defined shape.
The inside of the left chest features an easily accessible zipper-secured security pocket, allowing for storage of items such as a wallet.
The right side also features a small zipper pocket. At first glance, it looks like a classic wool coat, but it incorporates modern ideas for comfortable living.
