This project focuses on nanamica's functionality. This time, we highlight two outerwear styles using 2L PERTEX® UNLIMITED.
While nanamica's designs often base themselves on classic items, they integrate the latest functionalities into their materials and details. The outerwear introduced here, made from 2L PERTEX® UNLIMITED, looks like a cotton field jacket and vest but can be worn in any weather. It is not over-engineered, but instead offers just the right functionality, allowing you to feel a cool breeze during the warmer months.

I’ve heard that British gentlemen often don’t carry umbrellas, but with this jacket, we might find ourselves needing an umbrella less often. The reason is the 2L PERTEX® UNLIMITED used for the outer fabric. It offers excellent waterproofing and breathability, and with its durable water-repellent finish, it can be worn comfortably even when rain is expected. Moreover, compared to other high-performance fabrics, this material is lightweight and flexible, similar to cotton, making it easy to carry around.
The outer fabric has a matte texture similar to cotton, but it is light due to the nylon taffeta. The lining uses house-check patterned cotton/COOLMAX®, which prevents moisture buildup and keeps the comfort inside the garment. Additionally, the hood is detachable, and by standing up the collar and fastening the throat tab, you can improve warmth around the neck.
The inside of the placket features a security pocket, a familiar detail from nanamica. Designed so that you can access small items even when the jacket’s zip is closed, this feature allows you to retrieve items without letting rain or wind enter the garment.
The large flap pockets on both sides, which also serve as design accents, are equipped with gussets. This allows you to store bulky items such as a hat or paperback books.
Additionally, there is a chest pocket with a zipper on the inside. This jacket has so much storage capacity that you won't even need an umbrella or bag.

Next, we introduce a field vest made with the same 2L PERTEX® UNLIMITED as the jacket. While maintaining an authentic design, the shoulders are slightly compacted to ensure they don’t appear too broad.
The polyester corduroy on the collar not only feels great on the skin but also serves as a design accent. The lining uses house-check patterned cotton/COOLMAX®, which helps maintain comfort inside the garment.
The inside of the placket features a zipper pocket. The flaps on the pockets on both sides are designed to prevent rainwater from entering.
The hem adjuster allows you to modify the silhouette, so you can change the shape depending on the inner layer, such as a hoodie or shirt, to achieve your preferred fit.
At first glance, it appears to be a classic piece made with natural materials, but nanamica items incorporate features that ensure comfort for everyday wear. You might even look forward to rainy days with these functional pieces.
