When it comes to Nanamica’s Balmacaan Coat, the masterpiece is the GORE-TEX fabrics version with a cotton gabardine outer. But this season’s new model is a little different. For the outer fabric, Nanamica has chosen a chino made from a blend of cotton and CORDURA® nylon. Its dry, sand-like khaki color and natural texture make it feel almost like wearing a vintage piece, while CORDURA® nylon gives it the toughness the material is known for.
Despite its classic appearance, the coat is thoroughly modern on the inside. The lining is made from undyed organic cotton/COOLMAX® EcoMade twill, while a WINDSTOPPER® Liner provides high levels of wind resistance and breathability. A garment wash gives the fabric the character of something worn for years, while details such as through pockets reminiscent of vintage coats are sure to appeal to vintage clothing enthusiasts.
The A-line silhouette gently widens toward the hem and looks striking simply thrown on over an outfit. Style it smartly with slacks, or keep things casual with jeans. It’s hard to choose between the two.
